I have a Virtuozzo VPS running Windows 2003 on wich I've installed MRTG. MRTG works great. However the problem is that Virtuozzo's virtualisation assigns a new Interface ID to the virtual NIC after every reboot. Meaning after every reboot, I have to re-run the configuration utility to find the new interface ID, modify my main config file, delete the old data in the output folder, rename the collected data to reflect the new interface ID, edit my php file, and re-start the mrtg service. I'd like a script/program/tool that does it all. I'd only have to assign a new scheduled task for it at every reboot, and it would fix my mrtg by itself. ==================== ==================== Here are the exact steps I do in order to make it work again. 1) execute from .bat file: perl cfgmaker ***(a)localhost --global "WorkDir: C:\Inetpub\apps\MRTG\www" --output [login to view URL] 2) open [login to view URL] 3) find and copy new interface id in the file (line 73) 4) open main configuration file ([login to view URL]), replace every instance of old ID with new ID (line 26 & +) 5) delete a few files with old ID in the name 6) rename a few files with the new ID in the name 7) edit [login to view URL] file, replace old ID with new ID (line 329) 8) start the mrtg service ==================== ==================== ///////////////////////////////////// See attached .zip for files structure ///////////////////////////////////// Examples in the attached .zip OLD ID = 1079771138 (before reboot) NEW ID = 1074266114 (after reboot) /////////////////////////////////////
