Volatility Measurement: Integrate volatility indicators, such as Bollinger Bands and Average True Range, to gauge market volatility, a key factor in distinguishing trending from sideways markets. Pattern Recognition: Develop algorithms for pattern recognition to identify common patterns associated with trending and ranging markets. This includes analyzing price movements and patterns to enhance trend identification accuracy. Sideways Market Detection: Establish specific criteria for classifying a market as sideways based on a combination of low volatility and the absence of clear trends. Implement a robust mechanism to differentiate between trending and sideways market phases. Trade Decision Logic: Implement decision-making logic that activates the algorithm for opening and closing trades in trending markets based on the existing strategy.
