First for all: what scanner series you are using? I have a module/library which has an ability for managing scanner work, but it uses TWAIN driver. So, if your scanner is TWAIN support, then it's great for us. My library will have an ability for taking data directly from your scanner, and from here it will be up to you. You could store on the file, and then record the file name on the database. Or you could store the data directly to the database using BLOB (streaming data) technique. hi, first of all we need the number of letters to be scanned then only I can give the exact amount of cost. and I don't think a special program is necessary for scanning and doing all. I feel first lets scan the letters and place them in server, and create a client and basing on the permission of the user and user requirement, specific scanned document will be available to the client. hope u got my idea. I used to do the same type of application for a telecom billing company. if you okay with my proposal then get back to me on . thank you.

I already have a project similar to this one. It is in a hospital setting where stations scan doctor's orders which are then send to the pharmacy, laboratory, billing, etc. I used vb for frontend; php and postgresql for backend. But I can modify using vb, asp, and mssql.

Hello, I have done exactly the same kind system. With the system you can: (1) Scan letters. (2) Store letters into database (MS SQL Server/MSDE), you can use scan result or importing from jpeg/bmp/png files. (3) Input description/note about the letters. (4) Search for stored letters base on any word contained in the description/note. (5) View the letters with zoom in, zoom out, view full screen (6) Print the letters.
