MongoDB DBA - Replica Sets and Google Cloud

We are working on mongodb since 3 years and recently we implemented master slave architecture in mongodb. we know how master and child replica set works in mongodb.. how when master gets down, election happens and it choose one of the slave to be a master in the replicaset.. we did it for highly available portal so that even if master fails, child gets the master position.
