Note, the Activex control has been bought (Improsys Outlook Address Book importer). This needs altering slightly and integrating into the website. The HTML page template also exists so no aitional creative work needs to be done. Therefore the scope of the project is simply to alter the Activex control to suit and then integrate it into the website. OVERVIEW: This is a project is for a web-based form where the visitor adds his/her contact details to enable the download a white paper. The visitor can choose to either download for "personal use", which means that he/she simply gets taken directly to the white paper once completed. Alternatively the user can pick the option to download for "corporate use". If this option is picked then before the download of the white paper commences the site imports the Outlook Address Book of the visitor. The key functionality of this site should enable the capture of the contact details of the person completing a form and also allow for the seamless importing of the visitors Outlook Address Book upon agreeing to download the product. The address book contacts are to be saved in a database. The contact details of the person completing the form will also be saved to a database. It is important that the solution here is seamless and efficient to the user. Once we have told them within the original download form that the address book will be imported its important that the users experience isnt interupted by many/any more steps. The only other step i can see being needed is the user agreeing to download the Activex component. Once the user has agreed to do this then they will be directed to the white paper URL and the address book download will commence. Code base is PHP and all data should be saved to a MySQL database. The Activex control contacts importer from ImproSys has been acquired. This will nee adapting slightly and then integrating into the web pages. SITE WALKTHROUGH: - Visitor completes form adding a username and password. - If "personal access" is chosen then the user is simply Emailed the username and password complete with the URL of the white paper. The visitors contact details are held in a database. - If "Company-wide access" is chosen then the Outlook Address Book is downloaded using an Activex component. The visitors details and address book details are held in a database. - Once the form is completed an Email is sent to the user and all contacts in the Outlook address book. This Email contains the username and password needed to read the PDF document. The location of the PDF is also supplied within this Email. Again, the key thing with this is that the user doesnt have additional steps to complete (apart from perhaps installing the Activex control in the browser that allows access to the Outlook address book).
